Ultimate Craigslist score

I responded to an ad in my local Craigslist for an Apple Cinema 30 for $200. Ad was only up for a few minutes so I figured I would call and see if it was a scam or not.

Turns out it was legit and some older lady was just upgrading her consulting office screens. She told me she had a few monitors she wanted to get rid of cause her husband was treating her to new ones. Turns out she had 3 different Cinema displays that she was tyring to move. A 2007 30", 2010 27" and last a 2010 24". All monitors were in pristine condition and the 2 "smaller" ones still had boxes. Here's the best part..... I walked out with all 3 for $650. I still can't believe it. I already sold the 30" to a friend cause there isn't enough room on my desk for my current U3011 and that one. I let him have it for $350 still a steal in my book. Now I gotta move this 24" and I'll end up with a "free" 27 2560x1440 cinema display. God I love craigslist.

Now with the gloating aside, the 27 is a little cartoony out of box. Esp. compared to the factory color calibrated U3011. I'm having a hard time finding windows drivers for the monitor that will allow me to tweak the color, sadly the display has no OSD whatsoever. The 24" actually looks real close to the U3011 but it is simply too small in contrast. Having had a 30" for nearly 5 years going back is tough. Even the 27 feels very narrow in comparison but the pixel density is impressive.

Those people with more money than brains... And now you have more monitors than desk space.

Nice score. Consider me jealous.

I love me some craigslist. Few days back I picked up a bnib galaxy note 2 for $450. Flipped it for $650. Also picked up a msi windforce gtx670 for $240. Nice upgrade from my gtx480.

I'm having no luck either finding the right boot camp for windows 7 or installing the one I have to allow me to tweak brightness and color settings. Apple and their stupid proprietary products.

Ahahah, massive score.

I like the Apple displays. My parents have a 27" iMac and whenever I am up there I always find myself commenting on how nice a screen it is. I'm not sure I would like the, what I assume is, glass panel they lay over top of it for extended use. It does give a nice effect though.

At those prices I would of jumped on them in a heartbeat and found a use for them. :thumbsup:

And I thought I scored, when I picked up some non-widescreen Dell ultraSharp displays, three of them for $100. One 19", two 17", I think. Or maybe it was one 17", and two 15", I forget.

2 of my best deals ever were;

1) a tag sale 12 oz sterling silver plate 25 bucks. purchased when silver was 10 an oz.

sold it for 400 when silver was 40 an oz.

2) a yard sale on my block.
a classic soundcraft amp 10 bucks. 2 dollars to repair it sold it for 200.

Have to say nice price for those screens.

Or some people got their value out a product and would rather get a little bit of the initial investment back than throw them away. If these were used for a business, I'm sure they made more using them than the loss they take in selling them this cheap.

Great deal there. I just got a pair of 1GB 7770 Radeon cards for $130. Not super hot, but not too bad.
