half a decade of MMORPG goodness... others may have come, but none have the breadth and depth that UO has.

My favorite game of all time :)

Sure it had problems, but man was it fun. Nothing with as much to do. Town raids. Sheep shearing. Guilid wars. It had it all.

Sadly it's a shadow of it's former self. The game is just going through the motions now.

I had picked up a dirt cheap copy of uo2 at officemax a while back. Signed up for a free shard at this place.
It was fun at first but after a while it just got repetitive and boring. I know some people love these games and can play them forever but it's just not for me. :/

uo2 never came out... maybe you mean "second age"?

what sucks about housing is when it was when carebear land was first opened to housing i placed a large 2 story L shaped house right on the perfect piece of coast out near vesper. the people around me had manners and we all found positions that our houses would work at. some servers crashed due to all the traffice. lake superior did not. they reset the server anyway. the next time it went down the people around me were jackasses and i didn't get to place a house. i finally found a tiny bit of land where a small stone shop tower would fit. played for a few months, but eventually i forgot to refresh the house and it decayed, which sucked.

Well theres still a bunch of space left on Lake Austin, if you wanted to start over. Personally I quit two years ago. I played on Lake Superior, I came back but Im playing on LA,

Its called Lake Austin but its actually on the west coast. But yeah it opened on September 18. Currently only "new" players can get on it, so youd have to buy a new copy to get on it. Theres no places left for castles or keeps. There quite a few tower places left. And a bunch of spots for the other houses

Its not powerleveling. Its powercrafting. Cartography, is quite easy to do, and is quite profitable. Im talking 50k a hour once you reach the 90s in cartography(12 hours if you start at 50 skill). Its tedious as heck though, even with macros. There been a few people banned for unattended macroing, it seems some GMs make the rounds or something to catch them.

the cartographer NPCs. It has an endless supply of gold. It will buy all the maps you can make. Its easy to make 50k a hour. I didnt know about it till Tuesday. Before that I mined and mined and mined. Heh bought my lrg brick. Master Cartographer, Master Miner, Master Fisher. Not going to be a main character just one for money making and treasure hunting.

npcs used to only take a certain amount of items an hour or the prices would go down and eventually they'd stop buying.

i pharmed gold by killing liches with a silver katana. sooo easy. not 50k/hour though
