Greetings from Finland!

I'm a member of a group producing a free Morrowind mod called Ultima IX Redemption, which is aspiring to become the unofficial ending for the classic computer roleplaying series Ultima.

My responsibility is the music and although the project will take some time still to finish I thought of sharing a few sample songs from the material I have done so far. It would be really great to get some feedback - do you think this kind of material fits in to a fantasy rpg and how do you find the atmosphere and ideas.

Here's hoping its better than Ultima IX . . .although you could shovel yellow snow into a cardboard box and have it be better. 😛

I think the Software Forum might be a better place for this discussion though.

Edit - Just DLed some of the music. I like it, feels like it would fit a fantasy game very well. 🙂
 
Thanks! My uncle gave me Morrowind because it came with his video card and he didn't have time for games. I've never got around to playing it though.. :roll:
 
Let's hope that we manage to create a fitting end for the magnificent series. Ascension was a horrible flop 🙁

damn, i'd play that. i've been playing ascension (my third time through) lately, and while its got some huge problems, its still a fun game.

Morrowind is one game I loved every minute of, and it actually took a long time unlike EVERY OTHER GAME out there...well..recent anyway.

The engine also plays smooth as silk on my 9800 Pro @ 2048 x 1536 @ 85hz..
 
Wow, that music is great. I've never played Morrowind but I'm a huge fan of the Ultima series so I would definitely pick it up to check out this mod.
 
Thats nice to hear 🙂 You can get Morrowind with both of it's addons nowadays as a budget buy -game, so I think it's quite a good investment. I'd figure it costs about 10-15$
 
Btw, I was just watching Oblivion screenshots again and damn that game looks really good! I guess I'm going to have to upgrade my computer when the time gomes. (And I thought that Morrowind was as good as it gets).

But hard to say how much farther the 3d-realism is going. The released demo videos from the upcoming Unreal engine are quite absurd also. Never thought that kind of stuff would see the daylight.

What kinds of games are we playing on year 2010?
