Ultima 5 Lazarus - Now Released!

Just announced by Lazarus team leader Tiberius is the release and availability of Ultima 5 Lazarus. Here's the offocial announcement.

At last, my friends, the time has come. After five and a half long years, Lazarus is complete. The first Ultima remake project to ever actually reach the finish line....weighing in at over 500 megabytes, with nearly 300 unique NPCs, and literally hundreds of hours of play value, Lazarus is HERE!


The game is available for both PC and Mac, though currently only in English--French and German versions will be forthcoming. So make sure you've got your copy of Dungeon Siege patched up to date, download Lazarus, and enjoy!

So, I need Dungeon Siege in order to run this remake? Dang . . . guess I'll have to pick them up at the bargain bin then.

Taken from their forums,

There seems to be a very wide misconception regarding this, due to a very old plan we had on our website in ages long past. At one time, yes, we were planning to require you to have the PC copy of U5 installed in order to run Lazarus. Now, no. All you need is a working copy of Dungeon Siege or Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna. Well, that, and about 550 MB of hard disk space free.

Yes, you need to patch DS. Unless you have Legends of Aranna, in which case it's pre-patched

I'll definitely check it out. Too bad they didn't do Ultima 7 part 1/2 instead as they were by far the best of the entire series.

Of course, they don't have the nice graphics like this one...but they're still very fun games.

Google Titans of Ether for another Ultima remake, also looks really good, but its less than 50% complete.

God damnit. The sheer problem is that I payed for and had a working copy of Dungeon Siege at one point in time. And now I have no clue where the hell it is. I think it was thrown out. Major Bummer.
