ULi solution for my cousin, mainly focusing on brands

Yeah so I can thank the Pentium Guy for the mobo guide, I'm pretty new to the "ocean" of new mobo's out these days. From the guide I learned that I need a ULi(or my cousin I should say). He just ordered a 146 Opty 939, but he doesn't wish to upgrade to pci-e(he has a 9800se), and he'd like to do some moderate OC'ing.

So yeah, I searched around for many different ULi's the Asus and Asrock seemed to get some bad reviews from people, especially with compatiblity issues with their AGP cards.
Maybe the bios flash fixed things, but I don't know, off the bat does anyone know if there is good stable+decent OCer ULi mobo?(knowing supporting the radeon 9800se)

thanks.

Right now ASRock is the only motherboard using the new ULI chipset. Overall it seems to be a pretty good board. The thing to remember is that it's a value board, so you won't get all the bells and whistles. It does seem to have some issues though, touchey about AGP cards and memory, and the sata raid controller isn't very good.
The problems I listed are all hear-say, so do your homework.

That clarifies something, didn't know that ASRock was the only mobo to feature the ULi, yeah I'm on it, calling to see if they will give better support on which cards are compatible. Thanks though.

I've heard that a least two other companys are going to use the ULI chipset, but no word on when that might happen. I might end up using an Asus A8V, they can be had for $88, have a bunch more fetures, clock well and seem to be solid as a rock. I hate to buy a dead end board, but I hate a flakey board even more.
