I want to do a one year masters in something computing when I get my BSc in Physics.

Where is good in the UK for this? I want a change from Imperial in London.

Also if I want to get into programming what degree am I looking for? Software Engineering?

I am a chemistry student in Nottingham. vss1980 is a cs student at Nottingham, if he still posts here. LouisXIX is a cs student at UEA, he cant be bothered posting here.

They like their universities, i like Nottingham, it's a wicked place. Although the network sucks serious arse.

You could say that in 5 years a whole lotta blokes have heard this and gone there and now it's more like 50\50.

Infact 51/49 in '97 Push university guide.

That's pretty good though, I'm at Imperial which is 70/30, the wrong way :(

I'm looking more closely at Sheffield now. Nottingham doesn't seem to have a software-engineering related postgrad degree.

sheffield is more central for the peaks, but personally i hated sheffield uni when i visited it. I have friends there and they love it mind. You might be right about software, try contacting vss1980 if he is still around, he does cs @ nottingham now.

maybe, but nottingham has a bar in every hall of residence. thats 15 in total on main campus alone, and 4 in the new campus, one in broadgate park, 200 in the city centre... :D and after that there's twice as many because you get double vision...
