UK apologizes for organ harvests

Between 1960 and 1991, it has thus far been revealed that the organs of 76 people were taken.

Apparently, the same guy also outed them a several years ago for harvesting the organs of innocents:

Mr. Redfern made a name for himself 10 years ago when he revealed that Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, England had been harvesting the organs of dead infants and young children

Obviously, the organs were for research and not for sale (they were dead and useless as transplants when harvested):

The UK nuclear industry was obviously serving its own interests in removing the organs. It had long wanted to try to verify that there was no link between radiation exposure at nuclear plants to potential cancers that its employees sometimes later developed.

I could see where this might irritate families that had not given them permission to dissect the corpses:

Victims were shocked to discover that some of their loved ones had bones replaced with broomstick handles "to give the appearance of normality at the funeral."

They should have asked the families for permission before performing these operations, I do not see why they would refuse to grant permission. However, it is rather unethical to do this without permission from the families, unless it was in their contract and/or waiver that it grants the state the right to do so.

The Queen owns the organs of the peasants. It doesn't matter whether the organs are inside or outside the body or if the person is alive or dead. This is their culture.
