I think I'm going to run memtest on each module separately and see if that gives me errors...

i seriously think its a mobo/memory problem. your cpu temps are fine and your PSU can definitely handle everything. oh...dammit i didnt read your latest post...i was gonna suggest memtesting both of them seperately also.

How many passes of memtest86+ should I do to guarantee stability for each module?

The purple slots are fine. Check the manual, it doesn't list a single double-sided module in DIMM 2 or 4 being legit anywhere.

I know, but the manual DOES list me being able to use 2 double sided modules in a green and purple slot yielding Dual Channel DDR400, however I now get an error when trying to do this.

I was wearing a ground while working on my computer, and it doesn't make much sense that my green slots would still work while the purple ones fail, does it?

Edit: If this is the case, however, I'm going to be really upset :(
Is there any other explanation?

I'm nearly 100% positive...

Out of curiosity, were you grounded to the case, or to something else? Was the case grounded to something else?

I just looked at my motherboard to see if there was any trace of thermal paste, and to my eyes I couldn't see anything. I just got done testing the second stick the same amount of time I tested the first (1.5 hours). Both made 2.5 passes with no errors. I'm thinking about sending an email to MSI asking for a replacement board. I am out of options at this point I think.

Is there some way I did short out just the even number slots and the other ones remained intact? This is the only plausible explanation I can think of right now, I just didn't think it was possible before...

Well...I took EVERYTHING apart, and cleaned off my mobo with compressed air, reseated everything, and tried to boot it up. Just got the long repeating beeps again, looks like I need a new motherboard :(

I emailed MSI and they said there was a problem with my CPU as it has the on die memory controller. Could there be any truth to that?

I was grounded via wrist strap to my case, and my case was on my wooden ping pong table. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for all the help again guys.

Hmm... I'm starting to think more and more that it's my memory controller... before I couldn't push my memory past ~205 mhz even with greatly relaxed timings.. now this happened, conveniently when I was swapping from my stock AMD heatsink to a new one... that means my warranty is gone too so I'm out a $500 processor! :( sh!t this sucks.

I'm really confused... I've been getting conflicting information on what is wrong with my system. I think I'm going to wait for my buddy to bring his Venice over for me to test out before I RMA.

Have you tried setting the ram to 2T? How 'bout increasing the ram voltage and relaxing the timings slightly as well?

I've reset the bios many times, I can't even POST with two sticks inserted, therefore not letting me get into the bios.

Set it up with 1 stick then save, exit, shutdown, add the other, and see what happens.

WOW! Someone on another forum suggested reflashing my BIOS, and it WORKED! I have no idea how mine got corrupted, but I guess it did. I'm SO HAPPY NOW :) :) :)

Before reflashing the bios, I tried that, and it didin't work... actually I think I tried EVERYTHING besides reflashing, because I had no idea that it could help.
