Uhhhh, stupid question! Can I simply drop an Opty 185 into my board?

My current rig is in my sig. (Biostar TForce6100-939, Mushkin Blueline non-ecc ram, X2 3800+ Manchester, but I know it works with San Diego cores as my previous single core chip was that - fwiw.) Would I be able to just drop in an Opteron 185 & not have to do anything? I know literally nothing about Opterons/server cpus. :shocked: Thanks in advance!

as long as the opty is socket 939 it should work just fine

i believe that is a S939 opty.

And yes it would be a simple drop in, provided your board is updated with the latest bios.
