I'd guess there was a big PG mismatch and their 3-point guy kept picking off inbounds plays and popping threes - that can happen reeeally quick, especially if they're out of timeouts and are panicked.

There are many teams in D3 that play a "full court press, take as many threes as you can" style of basketball. Since D3 is about participation, a fun, fast tempo style of basketball will increase participation.

Examples include Grinnell College and Redlands.

I have a hard time understanding how they could score that many points between the two of them in a regulation game. I mean 78 points by the loser is not bad and considering the time it would take to get the ball down the court would soak up some time. Almost 300 points is hard to believe?
