Uhh Forza 2 is so addicting

I just got a 360 yesterday and I got Forza 2 for ~$7 used and borrowed NBA2k9 from a friend and bought Castlevania: Symphony of the Night off XBL Arcade. I haven't played a good racing sim since GT4 came out and damn this game is good. I started off in the Euro section cus they have all the supercars. Damn this is a great game. I played it until 3am last night. I was a die hard GT fan but this game is great and it's actually a full game!!! I know Forza 2 is ganna keep me occupied for a long time.

I tried it and couldn't get into it so I sold it.

Then I decided to give it another whirl a few months later, I got SO addicted, been playing it constantly for over a year now.

You oughta give the 360 wheel a whirl too. I've got one but don't use it (because I have nothing decent to bolt it to), but it works well if you can bolt it down.

Hope to see you on Forza 2 Wednesday nights!

I played it for some time, even joined the guys on Wednesday nights, but eventually I just got too bored with it. It's so boring doing the same few tracks over and over again. I was trying to progress in the career, finish events, win cars, get achievements, and so on... and I can't do it. I managed to to ONE single race a couple weeks ago and I was sick of it before I had even finished one lap.

It seems like there aren't that many tracks but there are many different ribbons in each track. I've only been playing since yesterday and I hope I don't get bored of the tracks but I'm sure playing on Live and trying to get every car will keep me occupied for a long time.

Playing on XBL is where the game really shines, in my opinion. I rarely play the game except to prepare for the race nights with the groups here. I play pretty much every day but it's just about all geared towards getting cars ready for race night(s).

i prefer arcade racers 🙂 i used to goto forza night. then people got really serious and into it. i had no desire to tune cars or what not so i gave up.

i think i was more addicted to the auction store then the actual game. i spent hours there bidding try to get good deals. i found some gems and resold them for a nice big profit 🙂

i enjoy crashing and people in forza seem to look down on that. hehehe.

I got my xbox when forza 2 was packed in with it. I actually cleared the single player and used my 1 mth gold trail in the AH trying to get all the cars. Afterwards I ended up deleting everything except my save game off the HD and shelved it.

After reading the thread here I started wanting to try it online so I picked back up and been having alot of fun with it every since. I recently went out and bought the platium hits edition so I could have access to the extra cars and tracks.

In the thread is a link to a calc that works pretty good for most of the cars. Type in weight, % split, tire width, and downforce then it gives you all the settings for steering and suspension.

as simple as that is... a racing game to me is just a pick up and play. extra work to play a video game is just that work. i like just the ability to sign on. pick a random car and go. 🙂
having stuff like this is a great thing for a game and adds a lot of value but its just not what i am looking for.

plus people get upset when they crash. i tend to drive wrecklessly and will bump and nudge. that seems to be look down on to.

they should just have something in the game the automaticlly does it for you.

I enjoyed racing with ya Joph, but Forza just wasn't your game. May we meet again in another game where your destructive nature can be used for the greater good! 😉

If not for the Forza nights, I would have stopped playing long ago. I did enjoy Forza enough to reach level 50 and "complete the game" although I don't have all of the cars purchased. I don't really care about achievements so whoopdey doo. The guys that race every week are good guys who enjoy racing for the same reason I do. As Joph said, we took a more serious turn after a month or so and it just grew from there. We're all clean racers who enjoy clean racing and want to race! We've had some comers and goers (including myself) but it is really fun when guys like blowfish (GCS on AT) begins to play and is trying really hard to become a better racer and over the months he has improved a great deal. He is always an easy one to point out, but that goes for everyone who has joined and will join in the future. If you like racing then come join us! We won't bite. Except Spidey. He is usually oblivious though so he will forget the next day.

Nothing wrong with that at all, this is why there's Forza AND Project Gotham AND Burnout, you can play 'em however you want. Forza appeals to the more hardcore, PGR to the middle ground, and Burnout to those who just want to cause chaos.

yeah you should join us to race. many of us share tune and builds so it will cut down the frustration.

haha, I did that last night a few times accidentally. I really nailed GCS from the back on his first game in. Funny thing is I was in a Cobalt on a straight, then at the end there was a stupid corner. So as I was approaching, I saw GCS had braked, so I put mine on but with the Cobalt being a tank, I knew I wasn't going to stop in time so I said "Shit I'm going to hit whoever is in front of me" and I dominated GCS 😀

Yup I got a nice punt job!! No worries, I wasn't even planning to race but the wife told me too 😀.

We have a really good time on Weds, it's really all about the fun. We are serious to the point where we don't cheat (i.e. purposefully running right through turns, shortcuts etc) and we don't just ram people off the road for position. Is there some bumping ... yep. Do we have wrecks ... yep (some real big ones mind you). Is this all done on purpose ... nope. We all fight hard to get up there and things happen (ask OSJ about the corkscrew on Laguna 😉 ).

If you want more serious action once you have got your skills down check out our new Enduro series which is much more serious (and difficult mind you).

Thanks Waldo ... your check is in the mail

Greg

we dont? oh 😱

I played it for a little while but I just thought that it wasn't as fun as Gran Turismo 3 & 4 were. After 15-20 hours of it I found it more fun to just hire a driver and watch rather than race.

I think it was mostly how Forza sets up the pacing of the game through the crap experience system. I can understand it for online play, but not on career mode.

Other things I liked/didn't like:
- I liked the large, sprawling courses of GT3 much better than the curvy, relatively tiny courses of FM2.
- I LOVE the ability to edit the color/graphics on a car and I even think that the graphics editor is really good for a console game.
- I like (not Love) the car choices.
- I really dislike the menu.

I wish GT had a detailed experience and varied system as Forza does. Puts a different spin on the game than GT to differienciate it.

-So you basically like driving straight than having skill and having to turn a car???
-Yea Forza 2 has a much detailed color editor than GT3/4 ever did
-The car choices are the same as GT but they have cars like Porsches which are awesome which GT didn't have
-Menu's in games will always be different for every person so yes it was very differen't from going to GT to Forza but it's not confusing at all

I was a hardcore Gran Turismo guy but Forza is just as good as GT with a different spin and with Porsches which is awesome.
