I'm either crazy or my screen just shook. It looked kinda like the male side of the "difference b/t men and women" site.

I may be slow, but i'm not quite that dense. My suitemates computer was supposedly doing this a few days ago, think it could be a virus? If it is, i don't know how i would have gotten it though

I have never heard of a virus that affects your monitor - but there could be one

Don't worry, i didn't take offense to it. I'm used to ppl calling me on all of the stupid stuff i do:);)

I don't really think its a virus, but i'm just checking to make sure. It would be good way to creep ppl out if there was. I've always wanting one that brings up a window and says "please wait while windows verifies all of your software lisences" to put on a friend of mine's computer:)

Electrical field?
something that is running under your dorm/apt/room/whatever

if they are both doing it, it's prob. something like that... i don't think a virus can shake your monitor like that.. i know i had a shakey monitor at work and i found out there was a big-arse transformer below my desk.. needless to say, i moved..

do you guys have the same hardware?

What kind of monitor is it? I have a Samsung 700IFT and occasionally, the image on the screen will kind of stutter or shake back and forth a little bit (degaussing doesn't fix it). Usually, I just fiddle around with the cables and connections and it stops.

hmm. similar hardware - similar problem... maybe there is something odd going on with yer hardware.. i still think it's something around the room though. i know the effects of magnetism and large power sources near a computer from seeing it at work, so i can't help but think it's something related to that...

odd.

 And what would be similar about our hardware??? Oh I forgot, your P3 is only 300MHz slower than my Athlon. Or were you refering to the video card? Yea sure, your TNT 2 is similar to my Radeon 8500 (they both have green PCB). Do we have anything that is the same??? (NIC maybe!)

/Me thinks he didn't notice that I dropped about 200 pounds of stuff on my bed right before he said his screen shook. BTW, my bed is right next to his desk. ;)

in comp class I can scare the dood in on the other side of the row by degaussing my monitor...it passes right onto his. Pretty startled reaction you get from them..it's like you press the button, and they're like "whoa" :D
