There are a lot of IT professionals who frequent this site. A decent number of people here make over 60K per year and are targets for Jaguar's market.Originally posted by: RyanSengara
Why would Jaguar have an advertisement on a site where most geeks would sooner spend their hard earned money on Hentai, a new GFX card, or a blowup doll than a nice luxury car.
Bingo. AT isn't just a bunch of poor college kids, I've seen it used as the basis of stock market reports before, so there are some fairly rich people reading this site.Originally posted by: Zenmervolt
Because Jaguar paid to put one there? Duhhhhh.

I've got firefox, but I don't have the adblock.
You missed the point of the thread.

I know, my family has a jaguar.
I'm just saying I'm suprised because 90% of the people here can't afford it.
To the fellow who said there are IT professionals making 60k a year that are Jaguar's target.
The NICE jaguars cost 60K+, so those IT professionals would be saving up for a few years to get one.

The X-type and S-type start at 30k-40k, definitely within reach of a lot of people.
Had there been an Aston Martin ad up there on the other hand, that'd be surprising.
Now those are nice.

OK I'm talking about real jaguars.
The X-Type is a almost exact copy of a Ford Contour, the S-Types aren't bad, I'm talking about the XJ series.
Now those are nice.

What does that have to do with anything? Jaguar still makes cars for people in the "average income" range. Would it be surprising if Infiniti were to advertise on the front page because they have cars that are "too expensive" for ATers?
