Uh...what do I do with all these fans and cables?

OK, my first computer build where I've installed a modular PSU (Corsair 620HX) and had to figure out what cables to use.

I'm confused how to hook up all the fans and the PSU in my P182 case. There's a crapload of cables!

1. Here's the dealio: the PSU comes with a cable that says "fans only" but it only has two receiving ends for fans, while there are three fans in the case. Can I just plug one of the fans into the regular 4-hole connectors? Should I even try to connect the case fans to my mobo (an abit IP35 pro)?

2. Also, should I mount the lower fan into the middle area, as opposed to the bottom area where the PSU and my hard drives will probably be? Does anyone have any opinions about this?

3. Anyone have opinions about how to manage a P182 in general? It seems like there's a lot to customize!

4. Can I just plug one fan connector into another, than plug that one into the power cable? That would leave the last fan connector for the remaining case fan...

I appreciate any and all help!

Bovinda,
I put a Corsair 520HX into one of those cases about a month ago, but connected to Gigabyte DS3L mobo.

1- I plugged one fan only plug into the lower fan, and then stacked the upper two fans onto the same fan only plug. You should have enough cable length to route those upper fan connectors around the backside of the mobo tray if IRC. I just left my fans running on low speed, so no connections to the mobo. Pretty quiet (not silent).

2- I left the lower fan on the bottom, with my hard drives for cooling there.

3- There is plenty to customize, I recommend moving this thread over to cases and cooling, or do a search in that category. Lots of discussion about P182 (and it's twin the P180b) and how to set it up. Some threads have pics I believe. Folks with a lot better knowledge on cases and who have done lots of system builds. I am quite possibly not remembering the cable routing exactly right.

4- See my first.

Also, for the Corsair, there are lots of power cables, but if I was not immediately hooking up to something, I did not even plug them into the PSU. Leaves the case a little less cluttered and I can always go back later and plug in if needed.

Have fun, I love the case, and how quiet everything is in comparison to the older computer it replaced.

Thanks RE3, I will look over in Cases & Cooling. Should have started there, probably... anyway, so just to confirm, you're saying you did connect the top two fans together and connect them to one fan connector? So that's kosher, right? Thanks for the feedback!
