Well, I ordered my first system a few days ago, the building process was flawless, all the cables were connected correctly, then it came time to install windows XP home. I was using the disk that came with my old Dell system. When installing, it says it can't find certain files! Internet explorer was one I noticed. Then when windows is installed, a TON of things are missing. There are no windows XP color themes, I do not see any AMD processor under general system information, and there is only a recycle bin on the desktop. What did I do wrong? And what can I do!?

Specs of system are in signature, I used a windows XP boot disk series to get into the windows XP cd because that wouldn't open on its' own for some reason.

Is it even really possible to use one of those discs companies like dell give for a new install? It's also illegal from what I can recall. Unless you don't use the internet so no one could ever tell. hm....

Sounds to me like you need to spend $90 and get XP Home and a Y-cable :).
Unless you're student. Then you shouldn't pay more than $100 for XP Pro.
