Why does that matter? They aren't integrating networks, they are on different contents. Metro/T-Mobile doesn't make sense because they will be integrating networks but this is far different. If they can dump cash into Sprint to catch up their LTE rollout then I'm all for it. Could you imagine even good LTE coverage with unlimited data. That would get them back in the game.

who cares if they are on different continents. Buying more means spending less per product.

No public company is 100% American. What do you think makes at&t more American than say Verizon?
Presumably not having 40% of your company owned directly by a foreign firm.:p

It's a done deal. They bought a 70% interest in Sprint - it is not an acquisition, albeit a controlling interest. Sprint gets $20 billion of badly needed cash.

Hopefully with that cash we see the improvements that sprint has promised the customers for so long in a more timely function. The whole apple deal was a waste in my eyes. The fact sprint knew they could not make a profit until much later in time should've stopped them from going through with it.

The whole argument over the nationality of companies is somewhat silly. Without even looking, I'd be willing to bet that Softbank has foreign owners, probably some of them American. And some of those companies are partially owned by companies in Europe and so on down the line.

Absolutely true! Soiftbank is publickly traded. The stock symbol is SFTBK, and anyone can buy shares at market price (currently $30/sh in round numbers.)

Got curious and looked who the major shareholders were. Here's their page.

Almost 40% of the company is owned by foreign individuals or institutions.

Hopefully this cash injection pushes the Network Vision plan to be finished sooner and allows them to buyout Clearwire.
