I just turned on my computer and heard that tell tale grind during the booting process. Downloading the fitness test (and moving my data to my other hard drive now). This is getting absolutely pitiful. I'm afraid to even put stuff on this thing b/c it's not if it's going to fail: it's when.

I have 20 GB of data on my 30 GB 75GXP, and I'm hesitant to back it up only because it'll take me around 8 hours and 30 CDs on my 4x burner. :) I really should back it all up, though, because over 10 GB of that data are all my MP3s that I...uh...ripped from my own CDs, not acquired off Napster et all.

I've got the infamous 45gb model. I've got another 17gb hard drive in my system so I can just drag n' drop my important stuff over to the other drive. I HATE this though. I swear it isn't worth it sending a drive in for periodic replacement every 3 months. It's $8 a pop to ship the thing back to them. This is just aggrivating.

I hear ya buddy, I went throught he same ordeal and had one drive that got RMA four times in six months before I just gave in and replaced it with a Maxtor DM 60. IBM does not upgrage or downgrade RMA replacements and I have yet to see any one get a 60GXP shipped to them for a 75GXP RMA.
