Uh oh, hows your portfolio doing?

I just opened up my account with Morgan Stanley last week. All I currently have is 32 shares of Corning Inc. (GLW). They are now at their 52 week low, and it has no place to go except up right! 🙂

How are your investments doing?

I'm hanging in there... the latest downturn in some of my holdings has allowed me to increase my positions, albeit at the cost of some of my YTD performance. I'm mainly in cash, the few things i'm still long on are holding up pretty well except for LUV, which has had a bit of a rough time lately. In any event, the last 2 years i've had a big winner both times (MO last year, AMD this year) which have boosted my returns quite nicely... having your largest holding be up big makes up for a lot of other bad choices in otherwise tough times 🙂

Energy Portfolio - Up 10.41%
Technology Portfolio - Up 20.36%
Precious Metals Portfolio - Up 25.77%

Been lucky I guess🙂

Yup. Those are all gains from March. I decided to skip school and pick a dozen stocks or so to invest in. I really don't know what I'm doing although I know who I like to bet on.

After 5 years of double digit returns, the IRA be treadin' water this year. Of course, I keep 85% in stocks for the long term.

If you have been losing on stocks, do a little research on that company to see if they have any kind of future. If you have lost in mutual funds, let it ride until 4th quarter 2001 and you might get some of you lost funds back. Good luck to all!

Wanna make money in the stock market? Think of diversification, buy low sell high, these are two things that will at least start you on the right track to becoming financially secure. But if you wanna achieve financial independence in your lifetime, you gotta learn a lot more about economics!
