Long story short, here is the damage. most of it got on the floor mat which I can easily junk.

Any one know if an upholstery shop can put some dye to help hide it?

I am pretty pissed...

That looks like some other kind of liquid, the sticky, saline solution sorta stuff.

Automotive carpet it inexpensive, replace it if it bothers you. A nice set of all-weather floor mats will probably cover it.

Replacing the carpet can be a PAIN which I would like to avoid. I agree with you though that floor mats are an easy way to cover up the damage. If it were my car I might try the color match stuff but I'd probably still plan on throwing mats over it.

I would probably just yank and replace the carpet. Even though it's a lot of grunt work, you will be happy you did.

^ I would have to go to a junker to find one. As infiniti does not sell them. It would be much easier to pay 25 bucks and see how that works out first.

I spilt bleach in the back passenger footwell of my M3, shortly after buying it. I shat my pants, but cheap bleach + expensive carpet & matt + cleaning it up very fast meant that I got away with it.

All of those type of fluids go in the trunk now, even if it's just a short journey.

Be careful with the trunk too, if your M3 is the same as the M5 the PDC controller is in the trunk and will run you about $700 if it gets wet.

Official load liner and elasticated luggage net, FTW!

And anyway, the majority of the electronics are in a comms rack in the left rear fender:
