You are a piece of sh!t for saying that.

So are you. He's right, you should expect it it's almost so frequent. Yes it sucks, but they knew the risk.

I hope he gets safely returned.

I'm a piece of sh!t because I actually care that another human being is being held hostage, and will most likely wind up dead and his execution broadcasted over the internet?

So I guess every time a police officer dies, or a fire fighter dies, we shouldn't care either because they knew it could happen, right?

People are abducted every day stateside. These people are in a warzone and know the risks.
It's a bit different if the abducted are American. Captors like to make a statement to us.

I hope you get testicular cancer.

Do you honestly give the slightest sh!t about the people that get kidnapped anywhere else? Why should the location of this kidnapping make any difference?

Unless you know the guy personally, what's it to you? If you care so much, do you cry every time an American soldier gets shot and killed in war? Do you cry for all the children who died of hunger in 3rd world countries?

first thing I think of with the combination of words: American + captured + Iraq = torture / killed inhumanely.

It's different than being shot during engagement in a warzone. It's different than sad circumstances in a third world country. This is a situation where people are treated in the worst way imaginable. That kinda raises an eye, as we've seen, don't you think ?

When a cop dies, it's a big deal. When a firefighter dies, it's a big deal. When a soldier dies, it's a big deal. if this guy dies, it's a big deal and entails some asskicking. Until then.... No.

I would think slowly starving to death over a period of months in a third world country would be a much worse fate than being executed.

so says you...

if I'm the prisoner, I have the biggest fear in life right now... and I don't know when it's coming. But I'm pretty damned sure it is.

I really don't want to sound callous,
but if we all adopted EyeMWing's attitude, what would be the point for the Iraqi's to kidnap any more? They're just trying to make a statement and to shock/disturb us. The more shock and outrage they get from us, the better their plan is working.

1) are they that dumb to really think we're indifferent about our people getting maimed like that ?

2) so long as there's a media outlet, they will do it.

If we all adopted his attitude, we could also indiscriminantly kill everyone in a certain area, so there'd be no more people to be a part of the resistance, and therefore no more kidnappings. Yea, forget about the importance that should be placed on life.

I'll stick with my attitude, thank you very much.
