Uh, hacked server in MW2?

So my friend and I were playing in MW2 just now and all of a sudden the map changes in the middle of the game. We're like WTF? and so we just keep playing. I notice that my points on kills was like 4.335E535352A+94. So I ask wtf is up with the score and several guys go "hacked server".

I'm like "fuck! we better get out of here!" and we leave. We then notice we're both lvl 70. I was 69 anyway but my friend was 59 or 60.

Any chance we'd get fucked over for this? It's not like we wanted or tried to go to this hacked server.

Unfortunate that happened. It has been going on for a week or two but got widespread this past weekend. I happened upon one of them (was in a 12 player TDM but changes to a 18 player game) but it was obvious within 5-10 seconds that it was hacked. People were saying "how do I record this??" etc. Just watch the scores before you frag anyone yourself. I seen it was bunk and left.

I prefer to level normally.

I am hearing that the patch today made another attempt at stopping texture hacks (I believe this time more effective) also I heard the game will quit and give you a message, before giving XP, if you are on a hacked server.
 
Yeah, I popped into one too...was level 50, got to 70 by killing a teammate...kind of lame. Not a huge deal, I am on prestige 4 now.
 
I just Google'd 'MW2 hacks' and I feel sick to my stomach now. I might be done with online competitve PC gaming for good, there are too many degenerates out there to waste my time anymore. I know that apparently people can hack on XBox (can they actually hack the game or is it just playing burned games?) but there's no way it's even close to this b.s. on PC.

man, I haven't heard about this. Makes me happy that I didn't purchase. For a while there I was regretting it, but as time rolls on I think I made the right decision and got dragon age instead.
 
You guys read about the negative XP hack on XBOX? It's in the console thread....you get killed and it hits you with - 5,000,000 XP, instantly deranking you to level 1.

I'm still laughing as I type this.

ugh, that would suck ass.

I just wish they would release a ton more Spec Ops missions. That shit was super fun (although extremely frustrating at times).
 
Yo I was kidding. Seriously I did not buy the game because they do not allow modding. Sorry to hear you guys have issues.

H4X... so that explains how my friend consistently took down my Atlas with nothing but a Firefly armed with a single ER Small Laser.

For whatever it's worth, the latest MW2 patch seems to have thrown the hackers a curveball. Get your gaming on while this lasts. It may be anecdotal but I played for a couple hours tonight and I was absolutely dominating in Mercenary Team Deathmatch without any sign of foulplay from either teams, so far so good.
