Anyone else here paranoid about a fan when it shakes on the fastest setting?

I just cleaned my fan because for some reason it wasn't pushing air while it was on (even on high). Weird.. but now on high it kind of shakes a little bit.. and I'm paranoid it'll fall on me in my sleep!..

ugh... So I'm considering a new one.. anyone else ever ask for ceiling fan advice here on anandot ? :) Anything I should consider besides the 5 fins..?

Mine shakes violently on the highest setting. In Texas summers, it's a tradeoff I'm willing to take. So far, so good.

Nah....shaky fans aren't dangerous. But here's food for thought (probably gonna scare you more) a ceiling fan is only as secure as the light box it's hooked up to. Yep. The light box the electrician who wired your house is ALL THAT'S SUPPORTING YOUR FAN. In most cases, I've seen them only being held in by one screw. :) So, how long do you think that ol' light box can hold that fan up? Hmmmmmmm....... ;)

(installed quite a few fans in my day)
