How about showing some ugly computer insdes....lots-o-cables impeding air flow and everything. I don't think it makes a hill of beans worth of difference in most cases. That is why my case looks like this:

Ugly innerds

Man, did you plan that!?! Even before I did cable management, I couldn't get my case to look that bad!

Well, you try to stick six IDE devices, three fans and one SATA drive into one case. Have you ever seen the movie Brazil. that movie was my inspiration for this computer case. Actually I made a conscious effort to make it look like that--sort of retro. ;-)

Yeah, I have had that enermax 465 for several years. It is still going strong after powering several different systems. the fan sometimes makes an oscilating sound, but otherwise it seems fine.

lol, you should see my last roommate's Thermaltake 430W. horrendously long sleeved cables which make the whole PC look like a spider web.

Wow, that is one ugly PoS :p

Kidding, sometimes my computer looks like an open bench - except that it's in a case.

Actually no, but I just wanted to make you feel better. :)

That looks pretty tidy to me. As a charter member of the AT Ugly Innerds Club, I declare that your membership application is rejected on the grounds that I can actually see more than 50% of your motherboard.

That is one amazing job of getting every wire in your case out in the open. How is the airflow and temps in that case?

Temps are fine in the low to mid 30s. As you can see, I have three case fans and a fan over three of my hard drives. they are low speed fans to prevent too much noise. I am not really sure whether or not having all those wires really hurts the airflow that much, but all those fans certainly doesn't hurt.

what about me? Am i in,

Here
Here2

Thats actually looking its worst. Normally everything is routed behind the board, but i got lazy on the last PSU swap. So yeah, thats about how messy my max is if i get lazy.

N7, a quick question, i can see you have the armor, why did you get rid of the rear HD cage? and one last statement,

WHAT THE HECK DO YOU HAVE THAT REQUIRES 6 HARD DRIVES
Not even my NAS is fitted like that.

Now that is getting more towards the sloppy type of PC case that we are looking for.

As for the 6 hard drives, it is actually 4 IDE Hard drives, 1 SATA boot drive and two optical drives (DVDR and CDR). The DVDR is flakey with CDs, so I kept the CDR. I use 2 hard drives in a RAID 1 Array for data redundency. I use one hard drive for a photoshop scratch disk, and the other hard drive for my windows pagefile. The pagefile drive is kind of an experiment to see if putting the pagefile on a seperate primary IDE channel improves performance over having it on the boot drive or on the photoshop scratch disk. The veridict is still out on that one. I might get rid of one hard drive to use as an external backup.

Damn :p

That's mainly because teh PSU is modular & my case is so huge.
With my previous FSP FX700-GLN, things were a lot uglier!

I took out the rear iCage for now since it tends to add clutter (cabling runs in front of everything), & i don't need more than the 6 HDDs for now.

Why do i have 6 HDDs?

Let's just say there's a lot of audio & video in there ;)
That's all i'm going to say :p
