Ripped from Gamespy

A forum post by CPL founder Angel Munoz states that the CPL version of CS has been tweaked. The word "terrorist" will never be seen, and bombing missions will now revolve around a "communication device".
I think it is important to reiterate that CPL is using a special edition of Counter-Strike, designed and implemented by Valve Software, for the CPL World Championship Event.
Here are just a few of the changes:

1. At the end of the game the words "terrorist wins" and "counter-terrorist wins" are replaced with the clan's name.
2. In-game references to "terroist" and "counter-terrorist" are replaced with "offensive team" and "defensive team."
3. The word "bomb" is replaced with "device" and/or "communication device."
4. The bomb explosion sound has been deleted.
5. Models are now forced and the entire offensive and defensive teams can choose only one model per team.

The action of the game now gravitates around a team trying to activate a communication device and the other team attempting to prevent that.

These content changes do not have any effect on strategy, physics, gameplay or any other relevant factors and have been designed exclusively for the CPL. It is not anticipated that this version will be released to the general public.

I mean cmon its a video game.

I guess the next thing is to ban the "vertigo" map...

As a matter of fact, I played CS just few hours ago. I played as a terrorist, and I did manage to detonate the bomb few times. It wasn't vertigo though...

I find the name "offensive team" to be offensive!! :)

This is certainly the most rediculous(sp) thing to happen to CS in awhile and there have been a lot.

I can picture it now:

CS: The Tea Party

Counter-Terrorists: women
Terrorists: men

Women want to have a tea-party. But men want to drink some beer instead. So men try to reach the fridge full of beer, while women try to stop them and nag untill the men fall asleep. Of course, men yell at the women untill they start to cry. Game ends if the men reach the fridge, one side is asleep or crying or the time runs out and women can have their tea-party.

Thats far too sexist! I think the new counterstrike should have a number guessing game from 1-5 and you have to guess the number and the first time to guess wins. That should be adequately non-offensive for all the TERRORISTS and COUNTER-TERRORISTS in the world. GRR

Damn, you are right! I guess we need to go back to tic-tac-toe... Unless X's and O's are offended...

Good one there Nemesis. But all that running and nagging - that might upset some people who are just trying to have a quiet tea party. ;)

So jumping around shooting people in the face with handguns and evil assault rifles is okay, but bombing a bunch of crates is bad?

What you say????!?!!

Someone set up us the censors!
