Is the forum poll (SINGLUAR) ever going to change?? Or is it going to be "What new features would you like to see here at AnandTech?" until the sun explodes?

It'd be nice if it was either removed, updated once in a while, or actually showed all the current (put some date range on it) forum polls (plural).

i third this motion. i think it would be cool to have a new poll every month or something. but gotta understand that the Staff here at AT is pretty busy with school and the like. so i understand.

Agreed :p

"We'll see, not up to me, up to anand. "

Alrighty, we'll count on you to ask and him to give the right answer ;) And well I'd assume you're in a better position to make the suggestion then us.

I doubt you'll see it change every month, there are much more important things to tend to than polls around here :). Like new features, and servers etc.

Well couldn't the MODs change it? It doesn't have to be oriented to the site (although that is a good idea) it could just be a IT issue that's on everyones minds. (ie: 64bit Technoliges, PR Rating, etc....). Or as suggested it could actually be rewritten as a summary page for all the polls currently going on in the forums.

What we are thinking is having the forum users post their poll suggestions to us by email, then we'll pick one and put it up. More details once we have how it will work done.

Waddya think?

Sounds good, but is e-mail the best way to go? Wouldn't a thread with people posting ideas work?

<< Nope, as after awhile the thread would be longer than the trans canada highway :). >>

Lol, you're right about that, but at least then you'd be able to scroll through all of the ideas and view them several per page rather than sifting through countless emails.

yeah i really like this idea. it would help get polls that we want to see and help keep the workload off all of you guys on staff. my vote is go for it.

I think the email idea is a good one.

People will not hesitate to contribute to a thread (evidence of that is Off Topic... ;)) however I think people are generally less likely to email.

Its likely that an email route would yeild less replies to sift through.

Lord, it's not difficult it's thinking of new polls and remembering to do it. Since it seems so important to everyone to read a poll then let the users suggest what THEY want to poll on instead of us trying to think of what you MAY want to poll on..
