Ugh....TA's.....

Danman

I busted my ass on this program in Object Oriented Programming. I finished it and it worked perfectly, I tried it on three different systems on the Unix and Windows platforms to make sure it compiles and runs correctly. The TA finally got to grading my assignment and he said this:

1 line of code was incorrect Program works after correction

I understand maybe one line of code may of been incorrect, but this is what I recieved as a grade:

Grade 70 out of 100

FOR ONE LINE OF CODE I GET THIRTY POINTS TAKEN OFF. I don't understand even what I did wrong, I just re-compiled it and it works. I already e-mailed him so I'm waiting for a response.....ugh, I just had to rant. :|

Go to the professor. If that fails, say hello to the dean.

Already did today. He told me this:

"Go b!tch at your TA."

A lot of help, ain't it? 😀

If it was erroneous, then yes, you should be marked off 30 pts. If it does not compile when we submit it, the highest you can get is a 50.

You made sure it ran, but no errors or crashes does not mean it ran correctly.

If you didn't notice that, for example, you were generating completely wrong results, then you failed in the testing stage of development and would deserve 30% off.

I have a TA for my managerial acctg class. She's probably 23, 24 years old.

I want to bone her like you wouldn't believe. Soooo hot.

Guys. You are thinking way too much into this, I did the EXACT steps our professor outlined for us. I ran the commands he told us too and each one of them were successful. That's what I don't understand.

There could have been an error in the specs, possibly even an intentional one you were supposed to catch. I caught one of those in my first programming class (never did find out if it was intentional).

I wasn't / am not saying you weren't robbed (robbed I tells ya!) just pointing out that "one wrong line" of code could be worth 30% of your grade if it showed you weren't following the specs or weren't testing your code properly.

We had this uber-hot (female) TA in an electrical mesurements lab... She'd always wear thongs too (you could see when she leaned over to help someone else), all the EE guys iincluding myself wanted to bone her. Everyone was hitting on her in that lab, it was pretty funny actually. Guys would call her over for "help" and just start hitting on her.

I understand that but usually the TA's are very leanient with a situation like this; usually they just give us full credit. I'm just hoping it's a mistake.

I just had my friend compile and run it and he said it's good.....this is not good. 🙁

There's a girl in my latin class who has worn a thong every time I've seen her underwear (heck, she sits right in front of me!). Sooooo cute.

hey, if he can provide pics, he can hijack all he wants 😛

and yes, TA's are asses. Back when i was still CE... I wrote my code, and formatted it to a certain spec. It was very clear (it actually confirms to some GNU spec or something if i remember correctly). The professor made NO specific comments on how the formatting should be done, just make sure it was "clear".

Well, my TA docks me 10 points for it... yes, 10 points wasn't much, but it was a principle thing for me. My professor was basically "it's your TA's judgement".. even after i showed him the code and everything. And the next semster, I did the same thing and no one complained.

Last semester the TA's were very nice and helpful. I don't know what's going on with these guys but if I don't get a response by tommorow I'm going to his office and raising hell. I just wanna know what I did wrong, I can't find the error in my code!
