Of course it isn't, because you have firsthand knowledge of the world around you. To pretend that the world is without pain (or evil, if you will) is delusional. However, does this mean that pain is all encompassing? Does it mean that we are to resign ourselves to the mind-numbing shlop that is pop culture?
Depends on how intelligent you are. Stupid people aren't smart enough to know that their lives are worthless, so they are happy. Intelligent people come to two realizations: 1.)They are hopelessly outnumbered by people who think "Survivor" is a good show, and 2.) Life can really be a drag if you think about it too much. Which leads to the age-old philosophical question: Is it better to lack a higher understanding yet be content, or is the higher understanding itself worth pain and torture? IOW, Carrot Top fans are genuinely happy, but would you want to trade brains with one of them?
