So this is a documented bug that apparently has no fix on the 360 version, need some help here if anyone has seen it before.

Quest is a side-quest for the mage guild.. entitled 'Information at a Price' or something like that. Basically there are vampires in a local cave and vampire hunters in town. You are tasked with getting rid of both w/ the caveat that the Count cannot help you if you get caught killing the hunters in town.

Here's the rub, I told the hunters where to go but they never went (the documented bug). Because of that, I went and killed the vampires myself but now there are no new dialogue options with the hunters because they still think they are hunting them. (wtf bethesda, I thought fallout3 had some shitty bugs).

So now what? My only option is to kill them but every time I do, no matter where I am (in their sleep in the hotel is the best palce), I always get busted by the guards. The *ONLY* thing I've found online so far is to use a Frenzy spell to make them attack other people and therefore you get off scot free. Problem is... I don't have a high enough illusion rating yet to cast any frenzy spell I've found for sale, I used the only frenzy scroll I found hours ago in the game and I cannot find any ingredients to make my own.

My only guess is to build up the illusion skill, but I'm at 12 out of the 25 needed and that will take fucking forever to do.

Any assistance? Anyone do this quest or have this bug?

I remember seeing something about the GOTY edition (that came w/ the expansions) having certain bugs fixed that aren't in the original. If you rent or borrow the GOTY edition, finish the quest and save, then go back to the original disc you might be okay.

Bummer. Sounds like you're fucked unless you have another save you can backtrack to. Good thing it's just a sidequest though right? :p

It's a pretty important sidequest if I want any useful Mage powers, which is what my character is :p

Ugh... what the fuck. Looks like I have to build up this skill before I can use that spell.

Any tips on killing people without getting noticed?

Hrm, when I killed Umbra I don't remember what I did, but it didn't count as me killing her. I think I attacked her once and ran all the way back to town, then the guards killed her for me. Not positive though.
