Ugh, GBA SP dust under screen! *UPDATE*

I love my GBA SP but there is a spec of dust under the screen that kind of gets on my nerves in a dead pixel sort of way. Anyone know how to get under there and clean it without breaking anything or worse, getting more dust in there?

Probably not any easy way to do it. I had that happen to my TI calc. I ended up taking it apart and using a dust can on it.

dwell, if you don't mind taking it apart, go to your local hardware store and look at "security" screwdrivers. You'll need a special screwdriver to take it apart, but once you have the right tool, it's just as easy as dealing w/ you PC, hope this helps :)

The spec was under the screen when I got it. It probably would not have bothered many other people. I just find it distracting. Bought it from Amazon. Will have to see about returning it.

I called tech support thanks to PipBoy's link and they were very nice and acknowledged the problem. They told me to take it to FedEx and do 2-day shipping on their account. They say it will take three days to check out and a replacement will be sent. Assuming all goes well I will have a new unit by Friday next week. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

I had to take a four hour bus ride yesterday and let me say the GBA SP was a Godsend, though Super Monkey Ball Jr. is not the kind of game you want to play in public because it causes you to make stupid faces as you try not to let your little guy fall off the edge

So you're getting a replacement for free?
Completely free. Not even paying for shipping to or from Nintendo. Not a bad deal and pretty cool they admit it's a manufacturing flaw.

The only complaint I have with the GBA SP is lack of headphone jack. I thought I would be disturbing people on the bus with it so I went to buy on and they are not available yet. Plus, it looks a little cumbersome, a jack that plugs into another jack.

This about sums it up:
