Ugh...exterior bubbling rust popped

Had a section underneath the passenger door on my 02' silverado that was bubbling underneath the paint. Now it's popped and I have a nice hole 😀

How long do I have before my truck dies of rust?

The undercarriage isn't so bad...it IS rusted, but I painted it with that rust-freezing goop a few years ago, which may have saved me some time.

They throw a terrible amount of salt around here on the roads and I have no garage for it...so I knew it wouldn't last forever unless I spent hours each week detailing it.

This isn't my truck, but the damage is similar

Well you can always do what I did to my beater van; chicken wire, cardboard, and bondo. Was still good enough several years later when I sold it.
