ugh! door handle broke again..

darnit. my door handle broke again same as here!

We went to Lowe's all day came back and the door wouldn't work.
my wife is worried that maybe someone is messing with the door trying to get in and broke it. since its odd that the same issue would happen with the handle twice in less then a year.

for whats happening is i can turn the handle but the stud part that goes into the door is not sliding so it opens. i tried taking off the handle and getting it open and same thing. the part won't slide out of the door jam.

this is just annoying.

There is very little tolerance for the bolt w/ respect to the door jam.

If the door is out of alignment or the lock unit shifts, the bolt will either not go in and or is "pinched" so it will not slide out.

well i will be damned. i got it open...then my 2 yr old closed the door.


i think you maybe right. the door has 2 windows on each side then the frame. it looks like at the top it is comeing out of the frame.
