Ugh... at what point do sleep-related issues stop being an issue?

I've had issues with my sleep schedule ever since... I came to college. I had a few months in high school where I was sleep-deprived, but I don't think it lasted much longer than a few months, then I got back on a regular schedule. But it's been a consistent problem ever since I came to college. Is it just the lack of a regular work schedule that does it?

Or if uncorrected will this be an issue for a long time?
 
I tend to have a completely f'd up sleep schedule when I'm not working. When I got laid off in '02, I slipped back into sleeping all day and staying up all night. That ended in March of '02 when I got my current job.

Typically I just pull an all-nighter to make the transition (stupidly, I did this on my first day on the job and was exhausted/almost hallucinating 😉 ).
