Oh, the humanity...

QB becomes the new face of UGGs

In other No. 12 news, get ready, Tom Brady is coming to a billboard near you. The QB has inked a multi-year deal with UGG Australia to endorse a line of casual footwear, outerwear, and accessories, and the Pats poster boy will be featured in a global marketing campaign beginning next year. Brady, who recently became a spokesmodel and part owner of Under Armour, is threatening to become as ubiquitous as his supermodel spouse, Gisele Bundchen, who has her own sandal line and does ads for countless clothing companies. “This partnership marks a new season for UGG Australia, and Tom Brady is the ideal first endorser for the brand,’’ said Deckers Outdoor Corp. chairman and CEO Angel Martinez in a statement. “He embodies the stylish casual attitude that is at the foundation of every product we make, and is as much a style icon off the field as he is a playmaker on it.’’ Though it makes men’s boots, slippers, and casual shoes — the company started as a men’s brand among California surfers — UGG Australia is best known for the sheepskin boots worn by women. Said Brady: “I have worn and loved the UGG brand for a long time. This collaboration gives me an opportunity to work with a leading global brand with a great history and a true vision for the future of its men’s collection.’’

I own a pair that I use as slippers. They're like the low rise ones though not the obscene boots.

I'm willing to bet that the men's lines are nothing like the popular women's lines that we all know about. Getting an athlete to endorse such a line sounds like a good marketing plan to me.

back in the early 90's all the surfers would wear them for the dawn patrol and in the winter. They have since given up on them as far as I know....they are now the domain of ugly chicks in denim mini skirts

Yeah, I read about. Are you surprised? You go to a mall, you see his face in the cologne section looking all Abercrombie. Then you see him in magazines... ironing clothes with just a wife beater.

That said, Uggs are the worst boots every made. They are for people who live in warm climates (you know, people who do not need them). Any person who has any sensation or feeling in their feet will notice two things....

1. They are not comfy.

2. They do not keep your feet dry and warm. You know, a boot should do one of the two.

However, seeing as how they are marketed towards the Paris Hiltons of the world, I guess I should not be surprised they are sold by the tons.

I highly doubt he will be sporting boots that look like those that were worn in the 90s by women. They make shoes, men's boots and slipper too you know.

On the flip side, if somebody offered you $1M to wear Uggs, would you not?

I don't care about the Uggs since they are crapola anyway but now I have to stop wearing Under Armor? Go away Tom Brady, please.

Give me $100k and I'd wear the women's boots.

Yet another reason to hate the man.

I don't hate the man at all. Jealous? Sure. Wildly successful. Rich. Handsome. Banging a chick(s) so hot I couldn't get within 50ft of them without my pants getting tight. This dirty mother fucker has it all.

AND he has a gorgous head of hair. (I just tossed that in for the haters).

Why are they called Uggs? Oh yea, its because beyotchy girls and sorority skanks who wear them stomp their feet down and go "uggg!" when things don't go their way :hmm: That's the only reason I can think of for the name :awe:
