Well I did say I couldn't think of a better word...something for thinking with their emotions.

For those that buy only say, black components, what do you do if you don't have a choice? Like when Dish HD came out it was a silver HD811 and 911 receiver. Both in silver. Do you just not get HD because of the color?

I remember about 8 years ago my grandfather getting a new tv for my grandparent's den. Was a Sony VVega. My grandmother thought it was tacky being all silver and flat. She wanted one like she had. One of those 8 foot long huge sit on the floor tvs with speakers on the sides.

I understand my dad's wife's point...just not very sympathetic to it :) Some type of person that would buy Bose ;)

 get some real speakers. Bose are way overpriced for what you get. You can get some very good speakers that look great for the same price as a Bose system. Granted, the surround sound Bose speakers tend to be decently good for music, but there are definitely some better sound companies out there.

Also, would you rather have a girl that didn't act on her emotions ever. Trust me, that would get boring very quickly.

How about "I'm feeling frustrated because it seems like I just can't please my step mother and I'm just trying to help her"?

 learn to read, fool. He's not saying he has Bose speakers, he's saying the stepmother is the kind of person who WOULD buy Bose speakers.

As for the stepmother, buy a $20 boombox from walmart, put it on top of the TV stand, and turn it up so it distorts and sounds painfull and tell her "This is what your tiny, hidden speakers are going to sound like." A bit of an exaggeration, but not much of one ;)

Don't help her. Tell her that she knows what she wants, so she can go out and find it.

But you might want to suggest some wireless speakers for the rear if she is afraid of hiding the wires.
