right..that's why he is 16-2. with such shitty wins over gustefson, nog, machida, teixeira etc etc.

he has odd striking but still a good MMA fighter.

edit: i think whoever wins the 3rd wins it. i give first to davis 2nd to bader.

oh man. good 3rd for both. i give it to bader but it could go either way

Gustaffson was green at the time, Nog only has one meaningful win since joining the UFC, and the Machida fight was a clear robbery. And Davis' record isn't '16-2'. He has 13 wins total, 12 discounting the bogus Machida decision he received. Most every fight he's involved in is forgettable, since all he does is try to smother an opponent (see Nog and Glover fights) and create the illusion that he's winning by throwing pitter-patter spam strikes. Didn't work against Bader and these judges tonight, thankfully.

Wow, Johnson's got some mean hands for sure. Reminds me of Lidell and Rampage in their primes. Still kinda surprised though, that was def not the same Gus we saw before, the one that took down Jones and then sent him to the hospital (I still think he narrowly won that fight). Must have been extra shitty to have happened at home. Gus will be back tho, I don't think anyone expects otherwise.

Next UFC is going to be good. Let's hope no one gets hurt or gets busted for drugs again.

Wow wished the Hendo and Gustaffson fight went a little longer but I hope Rumble gets a shot at Jones. If he doesnt I'd like to see a rematch of this fight.

Rumble is way different than Jones. Jones doesn't do that constant menancing forward pressure and I don't remember the last time Jones actually got a TKO on someone. Not saying that Jones couldn't do it, but he hit Gus with everything he had and seems like it didn't compare to the one good shot Rumble gave Gus. I think this is more of a styles make fights situation. Gus is better suited towards Jones. The closest thing Gus saw that was similar to Rumble was maybe Shogun, but Shogun was done as a contender by then.

While I thought Rumble would win, by losing the way he did this really buts a damper on Gus's rematch with Jones. He's gonna have to win maybe two more against the top 5. UFC should match him up with Bader. He will be top 5, and Gus should handle him easily enough. Problem is he will still probably need to beat Evans or Cormier. Maybe he can get away with Glover or OSP being that second fight. UFC never should have scheduled Gus vs Rumble. Those two should have been Jones next two fights. He should have fought someone ranked 6-8 to set up the rematch.

If the UFC was smart (and DW is not smart, but anyway) they would obviously book the JJ/AJ fight next, but then have Gus fight some can like Bader or Davis, which he would hopefully win, and then get him back in line to fight Jones ASAP.
I mean, there are only so many good LHW's, and exactly zero of them have given JJ any kind of fight, other than Gus.
The UFC needs to capitalize on that 1st Gus/JJ fight being fresh in people's minds, and not push Gus too far down the ladder.

Yeah, but the fact that Gus got TKO'd in the first round makes it hard to give him a title shot if the only thing he did was beat someone like Bader. It'll be interesting to see the new rankings, but I would think Gus is probably now 4. He should have fought Bader in Sweden instead of AJ. AJ should have fought someone like Cormier or Glover.

DW is not smart... yet the UFC has gone from what to it is now exactly how then? Clearly, the guy has no idea what he is doing. Why on earth would we have these crazy hyped fights and people like McGregor in the UFC.

Mousasi looked physically in better shape compared to how he's looked in the past. Granted he stopped an over-the-hill Henderson, but hopefully he's starting to live up to his potential in the UFC. He's always seemed to me to be a Fedor-I-look-like-I'm-bored-in-here type fighter, so it's good to see him get a finish in the 1st (it was a good stoppage).

I don't see Rumble beating Jones, though. He's had huge weight issues in the past and I think Jones can use his reach to keep distance and tire him out quickly. If it ends in the 1-2 round, Johnson by K.O. 3-5, Jones by submission.

That was a headbutt. It didn't look intentional, but it looked like that made Gus wobbly; more so than Johnson's right hand.

Have not watched the fight yet but surprised when I read headlines that said Gus lost but I was not that aware of the fight and that his opponent was Johnson.

He has good business and management knowledge and skill but his emotions and personal interests undermine all of his positives. And the Ferritta brothers have just as many problems as Dana White so the UFC may on the path towards implosion.

man finally watched this one. Where was the chin that took all those elbows and shots from JJ in the last fight?

Some fighters lose their chin after a big brawl and man this looked like a different fighter. Feel bad for Gus. So close and now so far....He should have been given the rematch first but man that fight woulnt have been very good if this is the fighter Gus is now.

Rumble just doesnt seem like a champ to me.
