trouble is the more you do that to AS the worse it goes for you. your eally don't want to get him mad at you

I don't know. Silver really doesn't go on the attack, so sitting back and fucking with him does kind of work against him.

And, there is some girl screaming some high pitched wail! Someone please slap her.

I think Diaz is kind of sandbagging. Making Silva come after him and get worn down for the long rounds. Diaz has a strong chin and excellent cardio, and by making Silva come down on him, he looks kind of beat up, but he still can fight.

I don't know about boring, but certainly not anywhere near what we expected for a Spider/Diaz fight. First fight back, etc, blah blah.

Both fighters threw what, maybe 10 punches combined in the 4th round? They might as well have square danced with one another.

Edit - wow. One of the most boring fights ever. If Diaz was not sandbagging I would be surprised. Showboating with no show.

im suprised people say this. this is exactly how i thought it would go. AS is a counter puncher. Diaz gets you flusterd and then you charge in and he hits you with a billion punches.

when they do get in exchanges diaz loses. but AS won't go in and go nuts.

this is pretty much why i don't care for mma, because every time i DO watch, it's boring as shit and goes to the judges.

besides the 4th i thought it was great. diaz is considered the best boxer in MMA and he was outclassed.

I give it 4-1 to AS

I assumed Diaz was going to be a lot more active. Silva loves to counter, but can he counter well against a million punches from Diaz?

I was really hoping for a better fight. It still looks like Silva is back though. He didn't really hesitate on using his leg and he didn't gas after 5 rounds. He kept his composure as well, which is hard to do against Diaz.

Diaz is a swarmer but people have figured out you keep moving and don't trade with him he gets pissed and flustered.

that is exactly what GSP did and what AS did.

oh anyone else think AS voice is fucking funny? lol the guy is a great fighter and sounds like a 12 yr old boy

That is a lot of Brazilians though. They have really high voices.

Diaz was jobbing anyway, it was a setup fight. Silva was throwing scared leg kicks. He's not the same spider.

culturally most brazilians dont believe in the macho low voice bs. Most people talk in glottal fry and are grinding their chords together. Ive had people refer to me as maam in drive trough because I have a naturally high voice. They see a big guy with a beard drive up they look confused :)

Some people damage their chords with nodes by just speaking.

the early fights were fantastic though the Woodley fight and the main event just lacked drive on both sets of fighters. Gastellum didnt clinch enough and Diaz just danced around and didnt really fight a good fight. Such a weird fight.

AS didnt get any damage at all and Diaz talked more than he threw combinations. Was hoping he would throw combos and move making AS move forward. Terrible fight really.

The Thales fight and the pit bull liver kick made the best sound ever. Well was more of a strike to the belly but DAMN that was sick.

I'm not sure what to think about that fight. I saw Nick throw some nice ones as well as pull off some impressive defensive maneuvering, but then when he was letting Silva hold on to him, with his arms up but not doing anything? That bugged me. I hate to question the integrity of the fight, but something just seemed off. A few other times he seemed like he was hesitating intentionally, I don't know.

I have to wonder if Diaz was getting 'paid right' to make it amusing but not to win. Either way, gotta hand it to him for wading in no fear against the spider. It's painful to hear Nick talk sometimes, guys got issues clearly (anxiety disorder/ bi-polar?) but I respect his love of pressing the attack.

I think everyone was expecting a Silva win, even Diaz, but I'm not sure if Silva has lost a lot of his chutzpah or if that was just respect for someone with a rock like chin who knows how to box. Probably both. I'd like to see Silva fight again to better gauge what's changed with him.

Did someone say Silva is retiring now?
