This is the second time he's missed weight, in just six UFC fights. The UFC should have a sliding scale of forfeited purse... The first offense, you give up 20%. The second offense, you give up 40%. Etc.

Not a bad idea on the scale thing. But, do it enough and Dana just cuts them, like Rumble.

What a shitty card.
Spider screwed up his career when he didn't take Weidman seriously in the first match. He has gone over the hill.

Rumble as in the guy that just beat gufferson and is next in line to fight Jon Jones for the belt?

if not, then I hate it when fighters re-use someone else's nickname

The same (except he beat "Gustafsson" ;) )... In 2011, he was fighting in the middleweight division. After missing weight three separate times, he was cut from the UFC, even though he was 5-2. He missed weight yet again in some other organization. He then reevaluated his career, and decided he was better off as a light heavyweight. He rattled off several wins at LH (and Heavyweight), and then was re-signed to the UFC last year.

He used to fight as a welterweight actually. Weightcutting is one of the worst elements in existence today that we deal with in the fight industry. And all the focusing on finishing the fight is probably hypocritically constrained by all the water the fighters are dropping for each fight which is not good for stamina and basically every characteristic of fighters including physical strength, sensory perception, and toughness of the body and mind so we just get lackluster performances.

The more i think about it the more i think AS wanted to lose subconsciously. He was tired of the pressure, tired of the grind and wanted a break. After the first lose he said he was glad he lost and that it was someone else's time to shine. It wasn't until after DW started to say he didn't mean that did AS change his story.

The leg break while terrible gave him the time off he really needed. Hopefully he comes back with the desire to win. I think how well he does against diaze will be a good indicator. he has the hands and skill to make diaz look like a fool.

meh. you won't do away with weightcutting. In fact most of the wrestlers in MMA are pretty damn used to it and can do it with ease. they have been doing it their whole life.

Lol. These fights have been pretty good so far though.

And Ronda. Omg, marry me. I am fine dating a girl that can beat me up. >_<

wtf Woodley/Gastelum fight?!

there was maybe 5 total punches thrown between them in round 1.

they know this isn't a sparring match right?

I give round 1 to Gastelum due to aggression and octagon control.

Round 2 was much better. And Gastelum is being aggressive now.

how small is that since he lost?

Let's just say he has to make a decision to have water or internet this month.

Apparently, Diaz has always wanted to fight Silva and he normally sits above 185 and the cut was really hard to get below that. He should be a lot better without that cut, I think. But, this is against Silva.

I read that he was guaranteed $500k. not sure how true that is though.
