I don't understand the hype that surrounds him, it seems like the ufc realized "we need to "create" a fighter". I mean Chris Cariaso had 10 fights in the ufc and no one knows who he is, after only 3 fights McGregor is all of a sudden the best contender in the world.

Conor McGregor needs a large plate of STFU, and I look forward to his next opponent serving it.

I agree. I don't remember hearing about this guy or seeing him. I must have not been paying attention?? The whole fight it seemed like Joe Rogan and Mike Goldberg were sucking on his dick. That punch that dropped Poirier wasn't an amazing punch. He missed and caught the back of his head..

Anyways who does he get next?

The bar has been set too high by some incredible fighters over the years to let a blowhard like McGregor get that kind of PR. Sonnen was an incredible mouth piece but he also took Silva 30 seconds from his first UFC defeat. What do I know, but I'm not buying it and hope he to see a crash and burn.

He was doing prelims in his first 2 ufc fights, then in his 3rd fight he all of a sudden was the main event... in ireland of course. So the crowd is gonna go nuts when their hometown hero wins, rogan/mike will go nuts and all of a sudden it seems the hype train starts.
He's bigger than brock/gsp they say...

Well he might be but he still has some guys to go through.. It kind of reminds me of the Diego Sanchez hype. They made him out to be something big and I never seen it...

Maybe only behind Brandon Vera, Sanchez is the next big thing! I know because it was the word of Dana.
