oh christ it's back to middle draw fights for not only ufc 119 but ufc 120.

the next top draw wil be ufc 121 Brock vs Velasquez.

Lets talk about Brock vs Velasquez since thats going to be more interesting than anything in UFC119, especially if you're paying for it.

Oh, and for the main event, i predict Mir winning by submission. Mir better take it to the ground pretty quick

Mir's chin has been tested, tried and convicted. But I hope he slugs it out anyway. I want to see his standup in more than 15 second intervals before being mashed up against the cage and brutalized.

crocop is way past his prime. he was a beast in k-1, sure, but that was 8 years ago.

if mir doesnt take this then he has no realistic shot at a heavyweight title match ever again.

Yeah, Mir should take it.

I'm pretty excited to see Little Nog vs. Bader. That one should be interesting.

Also, Mark Hunt is making his UFC debut and has supposedly slimmed down a lot. I don't think he'll be on the televised card, though. Not even Spike. :( Kind of funny that a guy on the un-televised prelims has a win over a guy fighting in the main event. :D

If left kick = cemetery, then Mark Hunt must be a zombie.

Crazy, how different we see it. Because I cannot figure out why Hunt is in the UFC now? o_O 5 fight losing streak dating back to mid '06, and they give him work? He must look fantastic in training or something.

Joe "Daddy" Stevenson isn't fighting, it's IA native Jeremy "Lil' Heathen" Stephens. And his staredown with Melvin Guillard was awesome. Someone's head is getting taken off in that fight, and fast.

Mir by submission. Lil' Nog in traditional Nogiera fashion will get pounded on for 3 rounds and throw on a quick sub when the other guy is too tired to throw punches. :p

Heh, must be the 'Legends of PRIDE' reunion tour or something. Now all they need is Don Frye and that rockstar-looking Japanese guy whailing on eachother's faces for five rounds :)

I'll give him this, Hunt was always fun to watch. Hopefully they'll televise it.

That may be it, he is entertaining.

I wonder if Dana enjoys watching the Pride guys get beat on? "You fuckers cost me revenue for years!" :sneaky:

I don't understand how guys enjoy kicking the shit out of each other for little pay. I know a uFC fighter, and he is missing teeth and will likely be dribbling his name by the age of 30.

What is his name? Because most would do it for nothing, they just like to fight. Getting paid for it, is a dream come true for them.

$50 for this card is a bit spendy but the 155 & 170lb fights will be highly entertaining.

Mir vs Cro Cop - Mir by Submission in the 2nd

Nog vs Bader - Bader by points

Lytle vs Serra - Serra by points due to better takedowns & GnP

Sherk vs Dunham - Sherk by TKO in the 2nd

Guillard vs Stephens - How is Guillard still in the UFC? Guy loses ao any fighter who is a top 20 in their weight class. Stephens by TKO

Melvin's with a good camp now and looked great in his last 2 fights. He's beaten some good dudes, and his loses were due to him not having submission defense. He has 8 loses, but has never been KO'ed. He's with Greg Jackson now, Jackson will get his submission defense up to snuff and you have the future belt holder (no I'm not joking) Nobody is gonna knock Melvin out, and his one weakness is being worked on very diligently. It will take 3-4 more years for his BJJ to get good enough, but he's still young so he's got plenty of time. Melvin's probably the 3rd best dude in the UFC based off pure athleticism. Another big plus for him is he always come to fight, win or lose he doesn't put on boring fights.

And while I know MMA math doesn't work, Guillard beat the last guy who beat Stephens ;)

I agree. Not sure what people are smoking. Nothing is blockbuster, but this is FAR from snoozefest 2010 IMO.. I am looking forward to every single one of these. Lytle vs Serra? Guillard vs. Stephens? There shoudl be some good knock outs.

I kind of agree. Hunt isn't going to be a champion, but he puts on entertaining fights. You need some journeymen like him in the division anyway. Like I mentioned earlier, he's lost a lot of weight since his last fight.

http://urdirt.com/2010/08/30/mark-hunt-has-lost-a-lot-of-weight-for-his-ufc-119-debut/

Let's look at his 5 fight losing streak, shall we?

Josh Barnett (5-2)
Fedor Emelianenko (5-3)
Alistair Overeem (5-4)
Melvin Manhoef (5-5)
Gegard Mousasi (5-6)

Shooooooot. Even being in the ring with those guys for your last 5 fights is impressive. So, yeah, he hasn't won in a long time, but look who he lost to! ;)

Also, the UFC contractually "owes" him fights as a sign-over from Pride. That's probably the reason he's in the UFC. :)

Thanks brudda, that explains it.

I hope I did not come off disrespectful either; anyone that has the courage to get in the ring or cage has my respect. It is just that he was not exactly tearing it up the last few years.

Ha! Not at all. This isn't Sherdogg. I won't be offended if we disagree (which we really don't anyway)... ;)

I'll most likely watch, but the only fight on this card that I'm interested in is the Mir vs. Cro Cop fight (even thought I think it should have taken place 5 years ago).

And for anyone looking for a stream, go to www.freefightsonline.com

Man I had a great HD Veetle stream. I used to use Sopcast only but Veetle generally has a lot better quality. IME, Sopcast and Veetle are only two worth it.

Since the several Veetle are all down, I'm back to usual Sopcast 24267.
