UEFI Bios

hey guys, I have a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3, gigabyte recently released a UEFI Bios, I just installed it and all is well. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, is there anything in Windows I need to change since it was originally installed with a legacy\normal bios, and now is running a UEFI Bios?

Hi there. I think there is no need to change anything, because it works fine, right? Also booting works, so seems like it is working. It is rather about the boot precudure as I understand it.

its all seems good, except in device manager I have 5 things listed under "other devices" which I never had before.
I re-installed intel chipset drivers and Management engine, no difference.

OK, that sounds like some other issue to me. You can do following 2 things:
1. Klick the unknown device, go to propterties /detials, and update driver, then let Windows search for the right one. It might take some time but Windows might find the correct driver on it's own.

2. You might need to go to manufacturerswebsite and download some other driver.from here http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3853#dl
It could be USB 3.0, SATA or some kind of additional Intel Stuff like Intel® Rapid Storage Technology. Not sure if you installed it or if this was there before the new UEFI Bios or not. I guess it has some other roots than the UEFI, because I doubt that Windows is recognizing the UEFI as 5 different devices, maybe 1 of them is, but other 4 most likely won't

all 5 say that, however 4 of them say under "resources"
conflicting device list:

the other 3 say similiar things, either conflict with memory range, or input/output range

this all started after switching to UEFI, in the bios I disabled Firewire, usb 3.0, com ports, etc. I only enabled onboard LAN and Sound, and SATA is set to RAID which I use.

I haven't tried because I don't have the problem, but seems there are drivers you can download, but most sites looks spammy, so I won't give you the link here.

It is bit late to suggest, but because of conflicts and such it is usually suggested to laod the BIOS Defaults after you falshed them. Did you try it? This should include reassigment of ressources of mobo and the I/O interfaces etc. Other than that I don't have any idea how to solve it =_=

yup I hit defaults in the bios, hopefully they release a new bios update to fix this

I ignore unknown devices that you cannot identify. If everything works and runs as it should (i.e no slow SATA or USB performance) then no problem.

pgse: You might have to wait or contact Gigabyte support. I have no idea anymore on how to solve that one =O

@cmdrdredd: I think he just wants to make sure the system is 100% ready and nothing is missing and causing any intererance, assuring all features of the mobo are running in Windows....
