UDP packets drop under gaming

What would cause my UDP Out packets to drop from 179 to ~ 48-90 (fluctuating)???

Basically as my character sits there and idles it hovers around 90, moving and playing the game online there is a substantial decrease in outgoing packets from ~ 48-90s. Why and what causes this? Processor strength?

You'd have to ask the game developers why they made the game behave that way.

The OP's post reads like his username.

What units do those numbers describe? Round-trip latency? Packets per second?

What are you using to measure the UDP flows?

What game?

Outgoing Packets per second.

Incoming is mostly a constant 30 Packets per second which I assume is the server Tick Rate.

I'm monitoring it just by my router's web interface

Basically this. No one can really tell you why except the games network IO team. I would bet they would tell you either since it is likely tradesecret code.
