UDP datagram to port 1900 (from the gateway ip?)

Doh!

I keep getting a firewall message (using Kerio) that udp datagram from 192.xxx.xxx.xxx (gateway ip) is trying to access port 1900. As far as I know, port 1900 is used for Messenger spam. But why from the gateway ip? Shouldn't it be coming from a wan ip?

Some gateways can be configured to push access logs to a client running on a computer. This might be what they use to do it. Go check out the config of your router and see if there's anything like that enabled.

udp port 1900 is upnp, your router is probably upnp capable. You can disable it from the router if you're not using it, which you most likely aren't.

Thanks, it was upnp. The firmware update added the UPNP feature and it was enabled by default. Should pay more attention to the change log next time.
