UDMA66 in Windows 2000

I recently ran into a reg hack to add UDMA66 to Windows 2000. I am sure many of you are aware of it, I wanted to get some feedback on this to see if it actually increases system performance, or is it just another lame reg string, and why didn't Microlame have this turned on by default in Windows 2000 Professional? Any feedback would be great!

I think some HighPoint/promise/etc ATA66 controller drivers actually had that reg "hack" built-in. The hack was intended for i8x0 controllers for proper ATA66 support.
