I NEED HELP!!

I just set up a computer with an MSI K7T Pro-2A mobo and IBM DeskStar 60GB 7200RPM, ATA 100 hd running Windows 2000. Usually, with Win2k, in device manager you can change the Primary and Secondary IDE controllers to use PIO or UDMA. For the Primary controller, I have it set as Auto (the only other option is PIO only). In the BIOS, I have Primary Slave and Master set as Auto for both UDMA and PIO (there's 2 options). There's no way to disable the PIO transfer mode.

Anyways, device manager in Win2k shows current transfer mode as PIO for Primary IDE device 0 (the IBM hd). WHY?? I can't seem to get it to run at DMA. And PIO is so much slower!!

Any ideas?
