here's my setup:
Athlon t-bird 800
Abit KT7
win2k sp2
VIA 4 in 1's 4.35
Quantum fireball LM 30gig 7200 rpm ATA66

Upon booting into win2k, I would go under the device manager and see that the primary IDE channel has my harddrive running under DMA mode. Ok, no problems there. When I check it later, it indicates that it's running in PIO mode. I reboot my computer and it displays the DMA mode correctly at first in device manager, but later, it show PIO mode again. THis is hella weird because the bios shows the HD running correctly at udma mode 4 which is correct and Win2k device manager does the same, but the device manager shows PIO mode after a while. i check to make sure I'm using the right IDE cable and all my other DMA devices are displayed correctly as well.
