If I had a motherboard (MSI 694D Pro) that had onboard UDMA/66 and I wanted to put a controller card (say Promise 100MB/s) on there and have my ATA100 hard drives running of the Promise card but also have some devices on the Onboard controller for a total of 8 devices could this work ? If so, how would I set it up in the BIOS ?
Would the "boot from" be set to SCSI ?

I don't have this equipment yet and won't for sure be getting it but I just wanted to check up beforehand.. Thanks !

yup. with the card and the motherboard you can get up to 8 devices running. you won't see the devices connected to the card from your motherboard bios. you can download and use a separate bios for the card though. and you can set to boot from harddisk still.
