UDF (ISO13346) is the successor of olde timey ISO9660. Missing from your list are versions 2.50 and 2.60 as employed by HD-DVD and BD). MicroUDF is a bridge format combining both standards and employed by DVD.

Without question use UDF and if the discs need to be read by legacy software then optionally use mixed "UDF/ISO", unless any file is larger than 2GB in which case adding the old standard is not an option.

As for the UDF version, it is generally recommended to select the latest version possible that can be read by the oldest hardware and software combo that it is likely to be encountered but without compromising on useable features.

In your case of backing up files to RW via DAO or Multisession, I don't suppose the defect management of 1.50 or metadata partition with optional redundancy of 2.50 come into play as they do with packet writing and DVD-RAM, so 1.02 should be adequate.

In short, choose UDF/ISO with UDF version 1.02 ;)
