I have a UD3R running my Q9650 under some h20 for my game machine. I usually never run the sleep mode; it's either on or off.

I currently have a Q9650, still NIB, that I was thinking of getting another UD3R board for. The machine would be my 24/7 machine which I often use the sleep mode. I currently have a P5Q Premium asus board running my 24/7 machine. I can't remember if there are issues with the UD3 board coming out of sleep mode. Do the UD3 boards have trouble coming out of sleep mode?

Thanks,

Is this a H20 issue or an issue with the board or what?

I posted a thread where everyone recommended the board for stability/reliability. Ridiculous if it can't even come back from sleep mode.

The board is a MONSTER C2Q overclocker; best in its class. I just am making sure my memory isn't failing me cause I don't remember if it was these UD3R & P boards or not. My maximus II only did 480 fsb this UD3R will do 500+. Try saying that with a quad. Believe me, I do love my Gigabyte board that cost me ... (MIIF = 279$; Gigabyte = 114$)

Your motherboard may vary.

I always had problem with Gigabyte boards and S3, I've never gotten them to work well together. I think as for the water cooling thing, I think its just because BTRY always posts that in other threads :p

First off, people were curious if it is related to the water cooling - no it is not :)

Secondly to answer the question above - I'm happy to say that my mother board doesn't have a problem coming out of sleep mode. I've tried it twice so far and no problems. I will keep you updated if anything occurs, thanks.

Hardware has limits.. You run high FSB on any board, things as such is bound to happen.. Especially with quads. Sorry to hear your issue - hope nothing is damaged.

I think its just a problem with the UD3 boards. There is alot of talk about it on the XS forums so it doesn't surprise me, but I don't think its related to teh high fsb...

There's a thread around here where I posted a link to a site that solved my UD3P problems. I'll try to track it down.

I finally got S3 to resume on my UD3P. Followed the advice in this thread:
http://www.vistax64.com/tutori...eep-mode-problems.html

in BIOS (F6):
1. Enabled legacy USB for kb/mouse
2. Enabled PME event

in Vista:
1. Restored Hibernation file (link on how to do this in the thread above)
2. Used "Recommended Settings for Sleep"

I did all of these at the same time so I don't know which one did it. In addition, this is the first time I've tried in a few months, so it may have also been new nV or Creative drivers, who knows. I'm just stoked it's working.

FYI - Enabling the Hibernation file will eat up a chunk of HDD space the same amount as your ram: i.e. 4gb ram/4gb file on your hard drive. So I'll probably test to see if that was the culprit, and if not, delete it for good.
