Stupid UD needs a checkpoint file really bad. I was stuck at 22% for 30+ hours and was going to reboot after it moved to 33% since it will start from the beginning of that % when my computer hard locks. Because of this i just lost 42 hours of work and am seriously debating if I want to continue running UD on this computer. In over 8 days I have turned in 1 day 18hrs of work. The rest is lost work due to the client not saving. Hopefully they will release an updated client soon. I know my computer isn't stable right now. Something is wrong with me trying to access my drives and them being on ata100 or non ata100 ide ports. I'm too busy to figure it out now so I have to live with my computer locking. I just pray that they get there act together because it seems like a great project and I'm getting tired of proving that rc5 is a really good encryption. I think that was proven well over a year ago.

I was thinking of doing Seti but i was getting terrible times last time i tried. How do you think a celeron 918mhz 96mhz fsb with cas2 memory would do? I know it has a lot less cache than a p3

SlangNRox, you should be able to get a bit more than 3 WU/day with that setup.
That would be cool;)

Ya, not recomennde to run UD on anything slow. Threw it on my friends old Intel 90mhz, 16meg of ram. Hope he doesn't come to pick it up anytime soon, it's at 70%, molecule 99, 4hits. Client time = 166hrs, windows98se uptime five days, 21 minutes. 183,000,000+ conformers and still chuggin. Kinda hate to shut it down after all that time, most of that 5 days went towards molecule 99.

You bet the points system blows dead goats. Have a little friendly ompetition going with my friend, he runs a smelleron 500mhz, 128mb ram, 8.4gig HD, dialup connection. I run exactly the same except for I use AMD K6II at 500mhz. We both use the same isp and both use 56k modems. He has returned 8 units for 1,742 points, I have returned 10 units for 1,408 points. pissed me off the other day and says "hey, see the 1200 points I got for a ten hour unit?" The most I have ever got for a unit is about 300. How the hell he do that? Oh, maybe UD got wind that his processor has Intel stamped on it. :(
I don't know. I had a couple of 43 hour units in ther! His L1 may be a little faster than mine, but that shouldn't work to his favor, as I believe the longer it takes to finish a unit the higher the points for any given cpu speed. It's UD time x system score=points, isn't it? Not only are the scores inconsistent, the points system itself leans heavily in favor of people with high speed connections and a gig of ram. Large amounts of ram is not needed or the Intel 90 above would have crashed by now. Hope they fix it soon, it's no fun competeing on an unlevel playing field, be it for the prizes or friendly competition.:(

Well, I don't know how much it'll hurt me to run UD on top of RC5, but all my machines range from Pentium Pro 200 to Pentium 3-866MHz, 40M RAM to 512M RAM. I totally agree on the unlevel playing field. At least all the processors are from Intel. :p
