I'd go there just for the intellectual stimulation. They may be very liberal, but they're also very smart...the best way to improve your thinking is to interact with smart people who disagree with you. Not that I would expect YOU know much about that 😀
This was pretty sub-par for Berkeley, there are a lot better ways to call MS out than that.
